Check your attendance percentage against the 65/75/85% requirement and see exactly how many classes you can still miss — or must attend — to stay eligible. Free, in your browser.
How the attendance math works
Your attendance is attended ÷ held × 100. The useful numbers come from projecting forward: if you're above the requirement, the classes you can miss is the largest N with attended ÷ (held + N) still at or above the target — every skipped class raises the denominator without raising the numerator. If you're below, the classes you must attend in a row is the smallest N with (attended + N) ÷ (held + N) reaching the target. Recovery is always slower than falling behind: at 60% with a 75% target, each missed class costs you several attended ones. Most Indian universities (per UGC/AICTE norms) require 75%, some relax to 65% with medical grounds, and stricter departments ask 85%.
canMiss = ⌊attended/target − held⌋ // 45/0.75 − 56 = 4 classesFrequently asked questions
Why do I need 75% attendance?
Most Indian universities and institutes follow UGC/AICTE norms that set 75% as the minimum to sit end-semester exams. Many allow condonation down to about 65% on medical or other documented grounds, and some departments require 85% for labs or internals. Your institution's rule is what counts — this calculator lets you set the target to 65, 75, 85 or any custom percentage.
Is my attendance data uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything is calculated in your browser — nothing is sent to a server, logged or stored. Only the classes attended, classes held and target percentage appear in the page URL, so you can bookmark it and update the numbers each week.
I'm below 75% — how fast can I recover?
Attend everything from today. Each class you attend adds one to both attended and held, so your percentage climbs, but slowly: from 60% (say 30 of 50) with a 75% target you'd need 30 consecutive classes to get back. That's why the 'must attend next N classes' number grows so quickly the further you fall — and why a 100% target is mathematically unreachable once you've missed even one class.
